This may not be a very good answer, but my own reason is that I have used
Sylpheed almost from its beginning. I switched to Linux in 2000 and found that
it was the best e-mail client for my needs then available. I have always
compiled from source and enjoyed watching it progress. It does everything I
need and, although it may sound rather old-fashioned, I do feel a certain
loyalty to software and Developer that have both served me so well.
