Hi dear users,

I'm using 2.4.0a on Win Vista and have the problem already discussed in

[sylpheed:30701] Re: self-signed certificate for pop3s/smtps

I'm seeking for a way to get rid of the confirmation I have to do every time. It would be cool if there'd be a button to permanently accept a certificate for a server, but for now, I tried to proceed as in the above-mentioned thread. I got the (hopefully right) certificate by connecting to the https:// port of the server, and storing it as "base64 encoded X.509" file (attached) in certs.crt in sylpheed's config dir. The debug output of Sylpheed indicates that it found the certs.crt file and continues as follows:

----
LibSylph-Message: Verbinde mit POP3-Server: mailin.ph.tum.de...

SO_SNDBUF = 32768
SO_RCVBUF = 32768
set nonblocking mode to 0
SSL-Verbindung benutzt DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA
Server-Zertifikat:
  Betreff: /C=DE/ST=Bayern/O=Technische Universitaet Muenchen/OU=Physik Departme
nt/CN=mailin.ph.tum.de
  Aussteller(in): /C=DE/ST=Bayern/O=Leibniz-Rechenzentrum/CN=Server-CA Muenchner
 Wissenschaftsnetz/emailAddress=mwn-server-ca at lrz.de

(sylpheed.exe:3072): LibSylph-WARNING **: mailin.ph.tum.de: SSL certificate veri
fy failed (19: self signed certificate in certificate chain)
----

Can you please give me a hint about what's going wrong here? I'd be very grateful.

Cheers,

Stephan
