Dear Hiroyuki,

I have now tried all options, with non-blocking, and blocking SSL. I 
also tried TLS but sylpheed seemed to hang.

Error messages are unchanged with and without blocking SSL.

I feel confident that this is a code regression. I may build an older 
version of sylpheed to confirm it is a client.
