[sylpheed:33019] Safe or locked-down mode?

Hi all,

My elderly father uses Sylpheed under Ubunut. However,  he is not
very computer literate and keeps on messing it up, hiding the 
menu or button bars, or  the  windows etc. Once he does it, he
can never figure out how to undo it.

Is there a way to lock this down to  prevent these kinds of
problems?
