2.5.0rc can be downloaded in .deb format for you .deb-compatible folks from:

http://muzzlethem.com/files/sylpheed2.5.0rc/sylpheed_2.5.0beta3-1_i386.deb

With a readme file at:

http://muzzlethem.com/files/sylpheed2.5.0rc/readme.1st

The readme.1st file explains why the .deb archive still has the 2.5.0beta3 version number when in fact the archive is version 2.5.0rc :)
