Unfortunately that does not help. I tried to set
LANG to my language, to language of a letter I want to
read and to en_US. Still all non-ASCII characters
are missing on screen. They are also missing if I do
copy&paste to other editor. But they are present if
I save letter to file.

Regards,

A.K.
