trying the printing stuff out of the gtk-demo app, it is the same, the
printer starts printing only when I close the gtk-demo application. As
long as the application is running, there is also a lpr child running.
looks like the BSD lpr works a bit different then the Linux lpr does? Who
knows... I'll open a gtk bug report on gtk.org
