[pgpool-general: 5725] using pg_rewind in basebackup.sh

Hi all,

I'm using postgres 9.6 and pgpool 3.6.6

I have a large database and would like to improve the time the old master become a slave.  I tried to use pg_rewing and check the return value.  If it fails I initiate fully sync but if the return value is zero I skip the full sync.  However, on several occasions the return value was zero, but wal receiver did not come up on that machine.
I would greatly appreciate if you could share your experience with pg_rewind.
