In Chapter 1 of the FAQ,

1.23. 	Can I import a mbox into Sylpheed's MH mailfolders?
	Yes, just create/select the folder you want your mails in,
        and select Import mbox file... in the File menu.

I don't know, however, what format kmail uses to store its emails.
