OutlookExpress-To - OE5/6 Multi Converter

## Introduction

This software (OE2) is a converter ofdbx files which are mailbox data
of OutlookExpress5.x/6.x. Because of using plugin, this software can
convert to any file format even if there is a plugin which supports
the format.

Following plugins are bundled.
(1) eml format (1 file per message)
(2) UNIX mbox format (multiple messages in 1 file)
(3) bmf format (Becky! Ver.2 data)


## How to use

Copy OE2.exe and plugin DLLs, and run OE2.exe.

Source
  Dropdown list contains users of OutlookExpress. When user name is
  selected, mailbox of the user will be converted.
  Push `Browse' button to select directory which contains dbx files
  to convert.
Format
  Select format to convert to. Some plugins have they own settings.
  For detail, see document of each plugin.
  Detail information for bundled plugins are below.
Destination
  Destination directory to place converted files. Some plugins
  have default destination directory.
Note
  Read before conversion.

START
  Push this button to start conversion.
ABORT
  Push this button to abort conversion. Files which are already
  converted will not be deleted.


## Bug

This software has following limits.
* Cannot reapperance OE folder tree.
* News messages in local folder are regarded to mail messages.
* Some news messages in newsgroup folder are regarded to mail messages.


## Bundled Plugins

++(1) eml format  (OE2eml.dll)

Major format that many softwares including OutlookExpress can handle.
The extension is eml. News messages have extension nws.

Eml format is known as message/rfc822, non-cooked mail message.
This format is also known as mh format and Maildir format.

Push `Setting' button to select naming rule.
* Sequence (default)
  8 digits seqeuence number + extension such as 00000001.eml.
* Sequence without extension
  Sequence number without extension.
* Subject
  Subject header of message. When multiple messages have same subject,
  sequence number such as (1) (2) will be added.
  Subject is never decoded.


++(2) UNIX mbox format  (OE2mbox.dll)

Trditional UNIX mailbox format. 1 file contains multiple mail messages.
Each mail is seperated by From_ line.

Sender of From_ line is assumed from Return-Path or From header.
Date of it will be date that conversion is executed.

Push `Setting' button to select From_ line handling rule.
* From quote
  Strict. A line which begins with "From ", ">From ", ">>From ", etc.
  is quoted by ">".
* Ignore case
  Loose. A line which begins with "From" in case-insensitive is quoted
  by ">".
* Pass through
  No quoting will be done. If message contains a line which begins
  "From ", message will be deveded at the line.


++(3) bmf format  (OE2bmf.dll)

Becky! Ver.2 (B2) native format.

If registry has B2 data folder, destination will be set to the data
folder automatically when this plugin is selected.

This plugin regards selected directory as data folder, and creates
a new mailbox named OE2. And creates folders corresponding to OE
folders under the mailbox.

Mail messages and news messages are not distinguished.

*BUG*
  Because index files (Folder.idx) is not created, the message will be
  devided there if message has "." line.


## Uninstall

To uninstall OE2, remove all files of OE2.
Uninstaller is not bundled.
