Hi everyone:

To shut this down, it turned out to be absurdly easy!

Simply copy the mailboxes to the Mail directory in your home directory,
and copy all of the configuration files to the (hidden) .sylpheed2.0
directory. Start sylpheed, in the left-hand panel right click on the
topmost entry {Mailbox MH) select "rebuild folder tree".

Then test and verify that all is well.

Remarkable.
