I don't do windows but do use Sylpheed on 7 Linux distros. As far as your mail is concerned you can probably migrate the Mail folder (whatever name you gave it) and you can point to that folder in Sylpheed prefs. In Linux typically a ".sylpheed-2.0" folder contains the setup details, not sure if those would be compatible with Linux but you have nothing to lose (make sure you have loads of backups). The longish sig is an image.
