Hi,
actually, it is an account preference, if it is an IMAP account, at
least.
In such cases, you can right click on the sent folder in the
IMAP/server hierarchy and set it as normal folder or sent folder (if
it is not already recognized as outbox folder).
In such case, that a folder is set as Sent folder (note that when is
set its icon changes), the sent mails are kept within that account
folders.
Also, to mention, that Yahoo mail service (yahoo.tld or aol.com
accounts), Microsoft mail service (outlook.com or hotmail.tld
accounts) and Gmail (just to mention the most used mail services, and
almost the only ones they do) they already keep sent mails on the
server Sent/outbox folder despite your Sylpheed settings in regard a
defined folder as sent/outbox, globally, or per account. All mails
that reach their SMTP are copied to the sender sent folder too.
A feature that, personally, I hate a lot...
Aside that, I can't tell if POP3 accounts mailboxes behave the same
way, setting a local folder of that account as sent/outbox, but if
mails are sent to the default mailbox set as sent, I guess should
work with them too overriding the default sent/outbox. I don't use
Sylpheed for POP3, so can't tell.
Regards.
