In the Japanese Sylpheed mailing list someone solved the problem using the
latest Mozilla certificates bundle:

  https://curl.se/docs/caextract.html

Direct link:

  https://curl.se/ca/cacert.pem

That works because that file doesn't include the old certificate.  If
Mozilla did that I presume the workaround is safe.
