aplay works and terminates. Thanks.
So got the sound part out of the way.
Now I need to get the "popup" part and then I might just write a small script and I guess execute the script in the box like:
sh notiffication_script.sh or something like that; hopefully, will work....

 'play <yourfile>'   (or
 'aplay' from alsa)
