I guess you didn't fully understand what Attila wanted to tell you:
Sylpheed handles html messages, but probably not the way you
expect it to. Sylpheed just displays them as plain text, but with
hyperlinks to follow (and some formatting).

It's a text web browser. It doesn't display fancy backgrounds,
fonts, etc. - just the text with hyperlinks (and some formatting).

Sylpheed works in a similar way. It kinda "strips" (parses) the HTML
and displays it as text.
