I did and replied last Friday, but because I attached a whole screenshot,
it has not come through yet. Unfortunately, I did not keep a copy of the
email I sent. I did find that the email size limit to not require admin
approval is 200 k, though.

Anyway, I had set up an IMAP account with the "as released" 3.1.2 binary,
but that didn't work. I edited imap.c as you suggested and recompiled.

Running the modified binary, I found that connecting to my IMAP server
still did not work. I then deleted the (only) account and added it back
by Configuration -> 'Edit accounts' -> Add. That still did not work.

I then deleted the (only) account, quit Sylpheed, and then re-started
Sylpheed. At this point, Sylpheed automatically started asking me
questions to set up a new account. I provided the correct answers for
each sub-window. I finally was presented with the window shown in the
attached PNG, saying that the 'SSL certificate failed'. I clicked on
'Always accept' and Sylpheed showed all my email on the IMAP server. It
has been working ever since.

My observations from having used IMAP access for a few days:

1. imap.c requires "+ " to understand that IMAP server is requesting
the password. M$ Exchange server sends only "+". Changing imap.c to
look only for "+" solves the problem. (Thanks to Laurence Darby!)

2. The only way to have Sylpheed ask whether to accept a questionable
security certificate for IMAP access is by deleting all accounts,
quitting Sylpheed, and following the prompts to set up a new account
   upon restarting Sylpheed.

3. I checked Configuration -> 'Preferences for current account' ->
Receive -> 'Filter new messages in INBOX on receiving' to have the
messages in the IMAP INBOX filtered upon receiving. My filter is to
have them copied to the MH inbox. If this happens when I have the
MH inbox selected, the message count of the inbox is not updated
and the new messages are not visible in the inbox until I click a
mail box other than inbox and then click on the inbox again.

4. When saving as a draft an email one is composing, it is saved in
the IMAP Drafts mailbox at the bottom, not in the MH Drafts mailbox
   toward the top.

The first three I would say are definitely bugs. The fourth is a result
of my desire to have things as they were when I was permitted to use POP
instead of IMAP.

Thank you for the help so far!

Craig
