Just downloaded the 3.0beta1, ran configure with the following options:

--disable-ipv6

compilation went fine, but execution failed with:

[jerry at scosco] <> /home/jerry > sylpheed
sylpheed: symbol lookup error: sylpheed: undefined symbol: set_event_loop_func

the symbol *is* in libsylph-0.so (which is in installed /usr/local/lib).

I tried adding --disable-rpath to configure, but that didn't seem to help.
Finally was able to successfully execute by disabling shared libraries.

This is the first time I've ever had an issue running Sylpheed, and have 
been a user since pre-1.0 time frame.
