Hi Pavlos,

I don't know much about Gmail or IMAP.  I wonder if the problems is
related to the sent email not being on the local machine.  

Under "Common Preferences"->"Send" do you have "save sent messages to
outbox" checked?  If you can get the sent messages saved to a folder on
the local machine, the "re-edit" might work from that folder.  I
wouldn't guarantee that checking that option would do what you want
either. :)

It would defeat some of the reasons for using IMAP though.
