I'm under my Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty:

I have created the path manually under: /usr/local/lib/sylpheed/plugins
Is this the right behavior or it should be created during 'make
install'?

After 'make install' the library still missing, after a manually
'ldconfig' now works well.

Synaptic->curl install and 'jupdate check...' works like a charm. :)

Now the window-log is clear, without warning, and all seems works well.
