[sylpheed:31998] Message focus

Since restoring Sylpheed post-crash...  A message subject is highlighted blue in the list, but the actual message itself, the content, does not show on screen until I click on the message subject in the list.  If I scroll up or down one message, so the next one is highlighted, the previous content still shows on screen until I click on the highlighted one.  Never seen this before.  Is there a setting?  Thanks.
