[sylpheed:32557] Inflated count of new messages

I just noticed that somewhere along the line with 2.5.0/Win32 the count
of new messages in the XP notification panel started including
newsgroup (usenet) posts. Is there a setting for this or was this an
intentional or unintentional change (or is it just mine - there've been
a few oddities lately)?  I mainly notice this when initially opening
Sylpheed and don't recall ever seeing an inflated count before.
