Hmm....

compose.o(.text+0x4cb9): In function `compose_write_to_file':
/usr/src/sylpheed/src/compose.c:3094: undefined reference to `procmime_get_encoding_for_str'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [sylpheed] Error 1

Is this a function introduced since the release of 2.4.1?
