Considering this scenario:

[23:40:14] SMTP< 354 Go ahead
[23:40:14] SMTP> . (EOM)
[23:40:16] SMTP< 250 2.0.0 OK 1184899215 c39sm3568552anc
[23:40:16] SMTP> QUIT

If the server sent a 250 (like above), I think it's safe to ignore
whatever happens after sending the QUIT command.
