Ah, thanks! So this is already half of what i'd need.
Now, it would be great if there was a "Download all folders" feature, combined with a synchronization algorithm, so that not the entire folders are downloaded, but only the new messages. Even download of one folder takes quite long, if it is large. With a few hundered MB of email messages, a "download all" would take ages. :)
Well, and messagew shich are deleted locally would need to be deleted remotely as well.

Is there any chance that we would see this feature in a future version of Sylpheed? 
With the increasing number of mobile Linux devices, this would probably be useful to many people.
