I have just checked that and I can't confirm - it does not blink
forever (I can recall it doing so in some of the earlier versions,
but not any more - 2.4.4). Still, the behaviour is buggy - if I read
the new mail when receiving, the envelope stops after blinking usual
number of times, but it still has the small pink envelope in the corner
- until I e.g. click on another directory (folder?) or any other mail
(including read mail).

Or do you mean reading new mail *after* downloading has finished and
*while* it flashes? In that case, blinking stops immediately when
I click on new mail - so there's not problem with that.

I'm using self-compiled Sylpheed 2.4.4 on LFS.
