If it is multipart, then the charset declaration is for each text part
distinctively. Please search further down the original message and look
for the charset declaration. It should be something like (example)

--Multipart=_Wed__22_Nov_2006_11_29_43_+0100_z9KQxT5L.MaBzRMU
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
