[pgpool-general: 8173] authentication on frontend and on backend

Hello,

Our PostgreSQL server requires md5 authentication of password.

We have set parameter ALLOW_CLEAR_TEXT_FRONTEND_AUTH=on , so password 
from frontend client pass with clear text. All is working well.

And at the same time - does the Pgpool connect to backend PostgreSQL 
with md5 authentication?

Do I think correct? Or wrong?

Could you clarify this?
