I think I found the problem. The network guys changed database traffic on the network. So my setting for arping_cmd was using the wrong IP now.

Subject: [pgpool-general: 6998] failed to acquire the delegate IP address
I have been getting this error message a few months now on my production environment and have not been able to find out why. Even though I get the failed message when I check ifconfig the delegate IP is showing.
I have been comparing my dev setup to production but can find the any differences.
Do you have any idea on why this is happening or what I need to look for?
This is only happening on production, my other environments – dev and test show in the log file “successfully acquire the delegate IP:.”
