[pgpool-general: 5917] Certificate authentication not supported?

Hi

I'm interested in putting pgpool in front of a AWS RDS instance of
PostgreSQL. Because PostgreSQL running on RDS does not support pg_hba.conf.

So I am diving into pgpool for the first time and reading up on
pool_hba.conf. If I understand it correctly, the auth-method "cert"
(pg_hba.conf) does not exist for pgpool's pool_hba.conf.

Have I come to the correct conclusion?
