[pgpool-general: 5578] Are the existing connections dropped if active pgPool-II fails over to standby pgPool-II

Hi,

Can some one please help me understand:

   1. What happens when the active pgPool-II fails over to standby
   pgPool-II
   2. Are the existing connections dropped or transferred over to standby
   pgPool-II by any means.

Please note I'm asking about a scenario wherein the primary database
remains up and running and only the pgPool server fails.

Any help here to understand the pgPool-II fail-over process would be highly
appreciated.
