Hi,
It is there, but not very obvious -
http://www.pgpool.net/docs/latest/pgpool-en.html
Scroll down, you will find
-D --discard-status Discard pgpool_status file and do not restore previous status

That option is not in the man pages for pgpool.
It's good to know because I have pgpool failover a few time because it lost the connection to the primary. Then I had to reboot the server to get pgpool connect to the primary again.

Thanks
Wolf

Hi,
Like this -
pgpool -d -D -f /etc/pgpool.conf > /tmp/pgpool.log 2>&1

The -d option runs it in debug mode
-D option makes it 'ignore' existing status and start afresh. So it discards the fact that it had 'failed over' to the secondary server and connects to the primary server.
-f tells it which configuration file to use

Jayadevan

Hi,
Answering my own question -
Use -D option.

Hi,

I am testing pgpool with streaming replication. There is one master and one slave. When I shut down the master, the requests were redirected to the slave. So far so good. I want to test a few more scenarios. Now that I have the primary master up, how do I make pgpool send connections to the master? It is still sending all requests to the slave.
