[pgpool-general: 2040] libpq not found - compilation

Hi there.

I'm trying to compile pgpool source on red hat 6.3. I read in the manual the
libpq is required for running compilation. It should be provided in the
postgres-libs package.

I have deployed postgresql92-libs-9.2.4-1PGDG.rhel6.x86_64.

When I search in the system for libqp it is found. 

Why the ./configure command does not recognize the library is available on
the filesystem? Shouldn't it be libpq.so.5?

 

I am trying to build pgpool-II from the latest stable release - pgpool-II
3.3.0.
